BMW in search of innovative ideas



The Bavarian manufacturer of motorcycles BMW Motorrad continues efforts on search and gathering of new innovative ideas in area motobuilding.

Company declared start of competition of ideas under name BMW Innovation Contest 2009. Its participants are offered to share the ideas concerning the future of motorcycles – in absolutely concrete plan – to offer the technological ideas and workings out in the field of a design and design.


"What ideal motorcycle of the future will be – it should possess what lines, will cost how many who will buy it? What new impressing trend in development of motorcycles which will inspire and amaze imagination of youth of tomorrow will be? We search for unique ideas, products and services which can be named by break in the area, we mean sphere of motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and vehicles similar to them. Your decisions should contain innovative technologies, underline passion and a modern style of life. What trends will prevail in respect of use of motor-technics of the future – for entertainment, for pleasure, for travel, for business, underlining of own style, ecological compatibility, profitability, something else? Abstract from habitual concepts and allow to work to the imagination. Take part in working out of the future of motorcycle branch and take a hand in creation of absolutely new technological decisions, materials, services, design, etc. Describe the private judgement, the two-wheeled motorised dream!" – With such appeal organizers of competition BMW to its potential participants address.

Within the limits of competition in Germany are organised offline "seminars of ideas" – two of them have already passed (on March, 28th in Hamburg and on April, 4th in Berlin), two still are coming (on April, 21st in Munich and on May, 23rd in Berlin).

For participants various incentive prizes and awards, including the main prize for the best working out or idea at a rate of 2 000 euros are provided. Demands for competition are accepted till July, 17th 2009.
