Vanguard Rocket Team and Buell 1125CR in Roadster Cup 2009

Ducati Supermono Strada 2009 by Alistair Wager

Ducati Supermono original has been one of the most controversial sporting experiments in the 90s. Planned to run in the Supermono Championship dedicated to the prototypes motorised with single-cylinder motors, the Supermono 550 was boasting a technical card similar to 125 granpremio: 118 Kg and a superior velocity to 225 Kmh.

The single-cylinder motor was practically a rasher of the performante V2 desmoquattro Superbike: it was using only the horizontal cylinder, and was marked by the so called "clapper", a system of reduction of the vibrations obtained with a particular cinematismo connected with the connecting rod of the vertical piston.


After 15 years, British Alistair Wager brings back at apogee ‘Mono, presenting with her a motor more performante and above all so desired road homologation. After six years of gestation, the Supermono Road becomes finally a motion completes, with much of plaque and lanterns.
