After a rather weak results demonstrated in the first quarter of 2013 (8.1% decrease in the number of motorcycles sold) in the second, Yamaha was able to return to the previously conquered positions. So, for the period from April 1 to June 31 dealers all over the world were able to implement one million 530 thousand motorcycles, up 1.5% compared to the number of vehicles sold to the same period last year. However, if we compare the semi-annual figures, for the first six months of this year, the Japanese company sold 3,000,000 units, which is less than 100,000 motorcycles sold during the same time period in 2012.

In the second quarter, sales of Yamaha fell slightly in the Asian region - from 959 thousand to 928 thousand motorcycles. Sales also fell markedly in Europe, where the economy continues to struggle with the consequences of the economic crisis. However, the decrease was compensated by increasing sales in India, Japan, North America and other global markets. In total, during the first half of 2013 brought a Yamaha motorcycle sales revenue of 466.9 billion yen (4.77 billion dollars), and it is up 12.6% compared with 414.7 billion yen, the company earned in the first half last year. However, operating income declined motorcycle units from 4.5 billion yen to 3.6 billion yen. For the first six months of the Hamamatsu manufacturer had a net profit of 20.5 billion yen ($ 209.6 million) - an impressive progress in comparison with the 14.5 billion yen profit earned in the first half of 2012.

In Japanese companies are confident that by the end of 2013, the number of motorcycles sold by them will reach 6.4 million. Last year, Yamaha sold 6.09 million units, and in 2011 - 6.96 million.
