H-D Sportster becomes ... Enduro

A talented engineer, and a big fan of Harley-Davidson Motor Jim Carducci has created perhaps the most unusual motorcycle dual purpose. Taking the engine Harley-Davidson Sportster, Carducci built around a real custom-enduro.

In addition to the love of enduro motorcycles and motorcycle engines of the legendary brand of Milwaukee, Jim drew inspiration from the BMW GS and KTM 950, located in a private garage. Having bought a Harley-Davidson Sportster 100th Anniversary in 2003 as a donor, the engineer started the development of the geometry of the chassis, wheels and suspension, body position, and the driver of the engine within the frame. All operations on the design of a new motorcycle Carducci done by computer simulation, and then built a polystyrene-scale 3D-model of the bike.

Jim's drawings on computer-controlled machines were machined pendulum traverse. Also, engineer-to-order fabricated a new frame and sub-frame, and also a lot of small parts - windshield mount and the GPS-navigator, protecting the headlights.

Among Corbin, known for its gelevyemymi seats, for his project, Jim ordered a unique "saddle". Sportster engine was pumped 1,250 cc kit from NRHS and camshafts Andrews N4. Suspension components developer also took only the best - Öhlins. 18th and 21th wheels are the result of the merger of components from such famous firms as Buchanan's Spoke & Rim, Sun, and Talon. The exhaust system is made by Supertrapp.

After two and a half years of work on the project, the bike Carducci Dual Sport SC3 Adventure completed. But Jim Carducci continues to improve his creation, trying to make it more powerful and easier. In the near future engineer is going to team up with several dealers Harley-Davidson, through their network to take orders for the construction of the unusual custom-enduro.
